Kantha is an ancient form of hand-stitch embroidery originating in India. Rural women used the simple running embroidery stitch to hold recycled cloth layers together using threads from old saris and stitching techniques passed down from mother to daughter.
Made in Rajasthan, India, the land of maharajas, medieval forts, and palaces. The intensity and spectrum of color and design are impossible to ignore. This artisan partner has been a Fair Trade member for over 30 years.
